Dear customers, partners, affiliates, friends,

Catapulte is happy to announce the opening of Catapulte in Shanghai.

To guide our customers willing to establish in Mainland China, Catapulte decided to set-up a presence in the mainland. Customers like Oreca (see below) can now enjoy the professionalism, the network, the know-how and the experience of Yun Qi and her colleague, Stella Liang. Yun and Stella are actually old friends of Catapulte’s founders, since they already worked together in the past, in similar circumstances. We are so happy to resume our collaboration under Catapulte’s umbrella, a new venture in a very confident atmosphere both for Catapulte and its customers.   Catapulte menu, if you cannot see the picture you need to enable them in your email client (right click download picture for Outlook)

Q:In these days we can read frequently in the news about the crisis of rising labor cost in China. Is it still a good opportunity to establish an entity in China?
A:Yes, as the economy continues to grow in high single digits in China, investment opportunities are still flourishing faster than ever.

Q:Under which form is it best advised to create a structure in China? Representative Office, JV or WFOE?
A:Choosing a right vehicle for entry is one of the most critical decisions a business can make when investing in China. Entry mode often depends on a number of factors, including legal regulations and restrictions, industry landscape, the size and scope of the enterprise and the market, whether the company plans to manufacture locally or import its products or source locally, and the level of on-the-ground sales and technical support required by customers etc.

Q:The approach to china has significantly changed in the last few years. People used to go to china to buy, then to produce and export, now to produce export and sell locally, is the next step to produce outside China and import ?
A:Since China is now transiting to a more consumption-led economy from dependence on exports, companies that initially came to China to manufacture products for export are now focusing their attention on the rising domestic market.

Catapulte in Shanghai has its first project with Speedshare and Oreca.
